The Agile Tour 2009 hits Toronto tomorrow! [Official site and Facebook page]
I’m excited to be attending, learning more about Agile (there’s always more to learn!), catching up with friends and meeting new people with a shared interest in Agile. I’ve looked at the programme and there are lots of good sessions, but I also want to spend some time networking; it’s going to be a full day!
I’ll be taking my Eee netbook and my camera, so hopefully I’ll be able to record a lot of the information – I’ll be tweeting (must remember to find the hashtag) but my photos won’t appear (on my Flickr stream) for a few days, and then I hope to write a few blog posts on the most interesting topics too.
Who else will be there?

I’m glad Agile 2009 is over … because reading all the tweets and posts about it just made me jealous
I wish I could have attended the conference because (for me) reading other people’s take on the presentations can be interesting but I’d rather be there in person and be able to discuss it face to face.
Fortunately there’s a one day Agile conference coming to Toronto in October – it’s part of the Agile Tour. [Toronto site.] I signed up for it last week and I’m really looking forward to it. If you’re in/near TO and interested in Agile, register before September 20th and it’s only $30 for the day.

After an aborted contract as a Scrum Master with a local company, a friend pointed me at a blog post by Vikas Hazrati entitled “Do you follow Agile? You are fired!”
He lists eight reasons why managers who don’t understand Agile might decide you aren’t committed to the project/company; I thought I’d review that list and add my personal experiences: (more…)
