Paul Henman began his career as a coder on an email server development project in 1988 and has over 15 years experience in leading software development projects, more than half of that time in Agile environments.

2009 (current) Looking to work with a dynamic, exciting software development group in Toronto, helping them adopt Agile practices to improve teamwork and productivity.
2008- (ongoing) Involved in the XP Toronto (and Agile) group; provided Agile training to non-software teams; led photo walks; volunteer IT consultant for not-for-profit group.
2006-2008 Scrum master* @ Trango, part of Siemens Enterprise Communications. Introduced Scrum & XP practices with large team enhancing an established call centre product.
(*A scrum master is the Agile world’s somewhat-equivalent of a project manager.)
2001-2005 Project manager @ Ontario HIV Treatment Network. Focal point for coordination of external suppliers, interactions with clinical sites, and reporting to stakeholder committee.
2001 Emigrated to Toronto, Canada. (Secured Permanent Resident status, which permits working anywhere in Canada.)
1994-2001 Projects manager & Quality Assurance manager @ Systematic Software Engineering Ltd. Led multiple concurrent projects for primarily healthcare and military customers.
1992-94 Porting team leader @ Uniplex (juggling 20+ flavours of UNIX).
1988-92 Software developer, Carrier400 project (X.400 email system) @ ICL (now part of Fujitsu).
1985-88 B.Sc. (Hons) Computer Science with Operational Research @ Lancaster University (Lonsdale College).

Paul’s experience spans healthcare, military, government, transportation markets; he has been involved in all aspects of the software development lifecycle, from pre-sales discussions right through design, implementation, testing, delivery, training and support.
